A New Concept for Christian Counseling Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling Sarasota, Florida The following is written by Dr. Richard Arno, President and Founder of the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling in Sarasota, Florida and his wife, Dr. Phyllis Arno, Executive Vice President: “I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works . . . “ (Psalm 139:14) “We are fearfully and wonderfully made by our God who created the heavens and the earth, and we are very special and unique. Creation Therapy is the key that will give you a better understanding of this uniqueness. It will help you to understand why people do the things they do and act the way they act. Creation Therapy is a new approach to counseling that deals with the inner man rather than outer manifestations or problems. Creation Therapy will teach you how to identify the “hidden” problems and how to counsel those who turn to you for help. We receive letters every day from lay persons, ministers and professional counselors who tell us that taking this course has change their lives. For the first time, they are genuinely helping people resolve their problems. We know this course will help you personally and help you fulfill the calling that God has placed on your life. Developed Through Research Creation Therapy is a counseling method based on the belief that man is a uniquely created being rather than the result of an evolutionary process. This method was developed during seven years of research involving five thousand (5,000) individuals who were seeking help for their problems. Conclusions based on research are that Creation Therapy is over ninety percent (90%) successful when administered by a person who has been trained in this counseling technique. Why Creation Therapy Works Creation Therapy works when other counseling methods fail. Why? Rather than spending session after session in an attempt to correct “symptoms”, the counselor follows a step-by-step counseling procedure developed to “target” the source of the problem(s). Some of the Benefits Lay persons and members of the clergy who take and complete the Creation Therapy course will: v Learn what causes relationship conflicts and how to resolve them. v Learn the secrets of human behavior and how God’s wonderful plan works when understood and applied. v Learn a very successful five-step method for counseling those who turn to them for help. v Qualify to administer the Arno Profile System which identifies an individual’s “inborn” temperament rather than his behavior.
